I decided to begin offering a new style of pet portrait paintings aside from the realistic style that I have made for people over the last 8 years. This painting is a study that attempts a different and punchier colour palette as well as less detail work with more of an abstracted visual from an image.
Over the past few years, I started to time lapse film myself painting, the original Youtube video of me creating this painting can be found here: https://youtu.be/MnEwuSpnB6c
The eighth painting in a series of fox paintings I have been working on. I am experimenting with different styles while painting this series. I have decided to use geometric and sharper abstract shapes to create the colour layers in this painting again. I enjoy the effect that it creates.

The seventh painting in a series of fox paintings I have been working on. I am experimenting with different styles while painting this series. I opted for a more abstract form while painting these four.

This is the sixth in the red fox series, attempting to work in a different styles as I progress, some may be similar to what I have completed in my pet portrait paintings and other commissions section. I thought I would love to paint a series of foxes because they are interesting, solitary creatures that seem to have similar personalities with cats (just like me). My love for foxes was influenced decades ago by the Disney movie, The Fox and The Hound, and through a couple life experiences while growing up in Northern British Columbia, Canada.
I also began to record my painting progress and creating a time lapse of the videos. Original Youtube video can be found here: https://youtu.be/nakI2pWyE2k
I was so happy to be a part of the Women’s Rights March in New York this year. This was one of my favourite photos I took after walking through the city for hours. Photo taken near dusk using my Sony A6000 with it’s 16mm-70mm lens.
We walk our dogs off leash at night in the center of Central Park. The view of downtown is amazing most nights, I had to share. Taken with my Sony A6000 with 16-70mm lens.
