2017-05 – Commissioned Painting by Cameron Dixon – Maggie
2017-06 – Commissioned Painting by Cameron Dixon – Pop Art – Milly the Labradoodle
Pop Art Milly the Labradoodle
11×14 Acrylic/Oil on Canvas
2017-06
My first time getting to use my newer style on a paid, custom painting. I received a very happy photo of Milly the Labradoodle to use as a sample image. All the curls were a bit of a challenge but the details also made this painting my favourite painting yet. I layered different colours over each other for a few more days than I had before and I think that really added an extra dimension to this painting.
This painting has been sold and successfully shipped to the new, happy owner.
Over the past few years, I started to time lapse film myself painting, the original Youtube video of me creating this painting can be found here:
2017-05 – Original Painting by Cameron Dixon – Pop Art FRENCHIE 1
Pop Art Frenchie -1
12×12 Acrylic/Oil on Canvas
05-2017
I am working on a different style of painting lately, a pop art-like style. I feel this Frenchie came out quite successful and I am enjoying the colours and abstraction that I am giving this new line of paintings. This painting can be purchased directly through my Etsy shop here, archival prints and products available for purchase via Fine Art America here. Contact me if you would like a custom painting of your own in this style.

2015-04 – Commissioned Painting – Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Abbey and Sophie
Abbey and Sophie
11×14 Water-mixable oil on Canvas
w/Wood Floater Frame
04-2015
Abbey and Sophie were a pair that have lived together for all of their life but they refuse to sit together for a photo session. This painting was from to separate images of Abbey and Sophie that were spliced together using Photoshop prior to painting. They photos were taken on a nice spring morning in their back yard.

2015-03 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Cowboy
Cowboy
10in x 20in Oil on Canvas
03-2015
A group of amazing people offered to put enough money together to purchase this beautiful painting of Cowboy who was recently lost. There were many possible images to chose from but I thought this one was best because it had Cowboy taking up more of the overall space. Others had very nice backgrounds, etc but this one really shined and showed off Cowboy and who he was.

2013-04 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Cedi
Cedi
16×20 Acrylic on Canvas
04-2013
This was a group gift to the owner of Cedi who passed away. I was able to use a fantastic, high-res photo that had a lot of detail this time. It was also my first time using a tablet to view the image while painting instead of a print out of the original image. It was a nice technological addition to my style.

2013-05 – Commissioned Painting – Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Shanna
Shanna
16″w x 20″h
Acrylic on Canvas with floating frame
2013-05
I still remember the first day that Shanna and her person came into the store. Shanna was just recently adopted from out of town where she lived her puppy life in a farm atmosphere. Her life that day changed immensely, Shanna is part of a family that loves her to death and giver her most everything she deserves. She deserved a painting by me :).
This was my first photo session + painting in one. I got to bring Shanna down to a local park and take some photos of her in hopes that we get a good one that we can work from for a 16in x 20in painting. Here are the results.

2013-03 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Molly
Molly
16″ x 20″
Acrylic on Canvas
03-2013
Molly was a great challenge for me, I hadn’t painted a black dog for quite some time. It was not the greatest image to work from and turned out great.
