2014-12 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Lily GSD

Lily
16×20 Acrylic on Canvas
12-2014

Lily was a longtime daycare dog who got to grow up with Sarah and I and our business. This was a present to Lily’s people from their parents and was completed just in time for Christmas. I love Lily, she is such a goofy, loving dog.

2013-04 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Cedi

Cedi
16×20 Acrylic on Canvas
04-2013

This was a group gift to the owner of Cedi who passed away. I was able to use a fantastic, high-res photo that had a lot of detail this time. It was also my first time using a tablet to view the image while painting instead of a print out of the original image. It was a nice technological addition to my style.

I also began to record my painting progress and creating a time lapse of the videos. Original Youtube video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=_YmrfrDdXSY

2013-05 – Commissioned Painting – Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Shanna

Shanna
16″w x 20″h
Acrylic on Canvas with floating frame
2013-05

I still remember the first day that Shanna and her person came into the store. Shanna was just recently adopted from out of town where she lived her puppy life in a farm atmosphere. Her life that day changed immensely, Shanna is part of a family that loves her to death and giver her most everything she deserves. She deserved a painting by me :).
This was my first photo session + painting in one. I got to bring Shanna down to a local park and take some photos of her in hopes that we get a good one that we can work from for a 16in x 20in painting. Here are the results.

2013-03 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Molly

Molly
16″ x 20″
Acrylic on Canvas
03-2013

Molly was a great challenge for me, I hadn’t painted a black dog for quite some time. It was not the greatest image to work from and turned out great.

2012-12 – Commissioned Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Crystal the Cat with Pauline

Paulina and Crystal the Cat
Acrylic on Canvas
16×20
12-2012

A Christmas gift, this came from quite a poor quality image. An image that came from an older cameraphone that could only take pics of a 0.8 megapixel quality. I think it turned out quite well based on the lack of details that I had to work from.

2011-03 – Commissioned Painting – Pet Portrait Painting by Cameron Dixon – Sarah and Maui

Sarah and Maui
16×20 acrylic on canvas
2011-03

This painting was for Sarah, it was from a photo that I took of her and our husky Maui in our backyard in Lethbridge, AB. Maui was a beautiful, Sarah was beautiful, I had to paint it! This was the first time in a very long time that I attempted to paint a person as well. It took quite a bit longer but I gained the confidence to know that I can do it again if people requested.
